Guided History Hike – (1 hour) Have you ever wondered about how the YMCA buildings got their names? Curious about what the YMCA looked like when it was started in 1908? Discover the history of the YMCA of the Rockies with a guided tour of the property. Hike is approximately 1 hour with an option to visit the Old Wind River Lodge site at the end of the hike. Rebekah’s Trunk – (45 minutes) Did you ever wonder what it would have been like to live in Colorado a long time ago? Come discover what Rebekah packed in her trunk when she traveled west from Omaha with her family. Families with elementary aged children will particularly enjoy this program. Meet in the Museum. Family Museum Walk – (45 minutes) Explore the Museum Grounds and discover the history of the buildings and the artifacts including the camp bell, the Mariposa cabin and the sundial. This hands on experience is designed for families with children of all ages. Meet at Sweet Memorial. Limit 20 people.
Let’s Go to Camp! – (45 minutes) Discover what it would have been like to be at YMCA camp in the 1950s. Explore camp games, see what kids packed in their camp suitcases and compare what you plan to do at camp with what children would have done at the YMCA over 60 years ago. Families with elementary aged children will particularly enjoy this program. Meet in the Museum.
