The Beverly K. Booe Early Childhood Education Program operates Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM, with drop-off from 8:00AM – 9:00AM.

Circle time provides a time for listening, developing attention span, promoting oral communication, and learning new concepts and skills. It is a time for auditory memory, sensory experiences, socialization, and a time for fun.

Guided play refers to learning experiences that combine the child-directed nature of free play with a focus on learning outcomes and adult mentorship. Children thrive when they engage in free play, which involves active engagement and is fun, voluntary, and flexible. The art center will always be available and encouraged during this time.

Our scheduled outside time may involve playing in our massive playground equipped with climbing structures, a hike through our large campus along the river, or a walk to the outside preschool classroom located a half-block away. This will happen all year long, even in the winter months.

Infants and toddlers will have scheduled diaper changes and bathroom breaks every two hours or upon need. Part of the toddler curriculum and personal interest, toddlers will be encouraged to use the bathroom during diaper changes, encouraging them to learn the basic skills needed for potty training (zipping/buttoning pants, wiping/washing hands, etc.).
