Artist in Residence: Stephanie Bayliff
A tradition since 1943, the Artist in Residence Program at YMCA of the Rockies has brought creators of a variety of mediums to Estes Park Center.
Stephanie Bayliff, a visual artist from Mulvane, Kansas, creates vibrant works across various mediums, drawing inspiration from everyday life and nature. She actively promotes arts and culture in her community while exploring her Native American heritage through her art.
She loves to experiment with color and texture to capture the beauty of everyday moments and natural subjects. When she is not in the studio, you can find her outside painting landscapes en plein air or teaching painting, weaving and visual storytelling workshops to participants of all ages. As a former librarian, she loves to combine art and literacy for children, teens and families through art events and community engagement projects.
Stephanie is passionate about promoting arts and culture in all forms and is an active member of Wichita Women Artists, Kansas Academy of Oil Painters, Kansas Art Guild and Derby Arts Council. Her work has been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions. You can find her work at Gallery XII in Wichita, Kansas as well as Carriage Factory Art Gallery in Newton, Kansas. During her residency at the YMCA of the Rockies, she plans to explore hiking trails with paints and a sketchbook, research her ancestry, and reconnect with her Native American heritage through art.
