Each year, we welcome artists of various mediums to a residency at Estes Park Center. Read about our fall 2024 artists below!

TARA RILEY
August 18-September 8
After earning her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Tara began her art career designing costumes and accessories sold internationally. She later transitioned to painting, focusing on the fleeting nature of life, inspired by Illinois wildlife, and discovered a passion for painting on silk scarves in 2022. Tara’s work is featured in private collections across the USA, Mexico, and Europe, and her largest piece, a street piano, is part of a museum collection. She continues to exhibit her art in shows, galleries, and workshops.

ALISON KAN GREVSTAD
September 9-September 27
Alison Kan Grevstad is a ceramic and visual artist from the Pacific Northwest who recently published the illustrated children’s book Catastrophe by the Sea and is now working on her own book series. During her residency, she will explore themes of Animals and Empathy through ceramic art and storytelling. Inspired by nature, Alison’s work focuses on cultural and environmental awareness, aiming to spark curiosity and empathy. An active member of the Seattle arts community, Alison teaches ceramics at Pottery Northwest, where she has worked for the past ten years.

LAUREL BAHE
September 30-October 20
Laurel Bahe, a former bank auditor, stumbled upon her passion for watercolor painting after retiring in 2008 and enrolling in a community college class to stay
active. Laurel likes to share her creative ideas and make collaborative pieces with help from people who say they are not artists. She plans to do a large poured-paint landscape with visitors and a large canvas painting that starts as marks, squiggles, stamps made on a canvas by people like YOU and turns into something recognizable, an owl or landscape perhaps, with lots of texture and personality. Each year, we welcome artists of various mediums to a
residency at Estes Park Center. Check the activity guide on our website for workshops, pop-ups, and performances!
