Fishing & Fly Fishing
Want to show the kids how to fish? Or want to simply relax by the pond and pull out a few trout? Estes Park Center has a great little fishing pond on the property.
Dorsey Lake is located at the entrance of the YMCA. Everybody is welcome to fish, however, if you’re 16 years and older, you’re required to have a fishing license. To purchase a fishing license, please visit Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s website. Fishing at Dorsey Lake is catch and release only.
Nearby Rocky Mountain National park is home to world-class fly-fishing opportunities. Estes Park Center offers a variety of fly fishing options through Sasquatch Fly Fishing, so you can get the most out of your experience. Full, half day or overnight trips are available. Trips include rod, reel, line, waders, leader, tippet and flies. All you need to bring is food, water, personal clothing and the willingness to learn.
Sasquatch Fly Fishing generally opens on Memorial Day and closes for the season in mid- September and is located in the Mountain Center Building. You may set up private outings, but we are limited to 10 per party. To book a private outing or for more information please contact:
