With so many activities to do, you’ll never get bored. Our Program department is located in the Sweet Memorial Program building. To reach program staff regarding any of the activities below, please call 970-586-3341, extension 1104. Many activities are free and included with a lodging reservation, some activities have additional fees.
Stay Pass wristbands and Day Pass wristbands will be your all-access-pass to our free and affordable activities! Guests staying at YMCA of the Rockies will receive a Stay Pass, which is included in the price of their lodging. If you’re not staying on-grounds or are not a member of the YMCA of the Rockies, you must purchase a wristband Day Pass to participate in activities. $25 for adults, $10 for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free. Only YMCA of the Rockies Memberships holders will receive a complimentary Day Pass. The Day Pass can be purchased at the Sweet Memorial Program Building or the Administration Building.

Axe throwing is closed for the summer season! We look forward to seeing you for axe throwing for the summer 2021 season! Experience the rush of axe throwing! This new activity at YMCA of the Rockies offers the chance to bring out your inner mountain woman/man! During each session you will be shown how to safely throw a two-pound hatchet at a target and get it to stick. Great experience for both first time and veteran axe throwers. Rent a mountain bike from the Boone Family Mountain Center and set out on a mountain adventure. Our helpful staff can help direct you to various mountain bike trails around YMCA of the Rockies and help answer any of your questions. Or rent a bike to get around our property for the day. Bike rentals available for adult and child sizes. Located at the lower level of the Boone Family Mountain Center. Enjoy a themed escape room at the YMCA of the Rockies. Interpret clues, solve puzzles, unlock doors, and decipher riddles in this sensory and immersive experience. You will have 45 minutes to complete the challenge! This activity fosters team building, problem solving, and fun for groups of all ages and sizes. Will you be able to escape?! The escape room is located in one of our historic cabins and comes with a facilitator to assist you. Please check the activity guide for times of availability. Enjoy a Colorado tradition, sledding! Sledding is permitted on our sledding hill, located south of Dorsey Lake near the entrance of the YMCA of the Rockies. Bring your own sled or check one out from the Sweet Memorial Program Building. Sledding hill is open from dawn to dusk. Guests lodging at YMCA of the Rockies receive complimentary access.

Forget something at home? Need gear for your hike in Rocky Mountain National Park? No worries, the YMCA has you covered! Our General Store and Gear Shop offer a wide variety of items ranging from grocery items to hiking poles and snowshoes that will cover all the basics, allowing you to enjoy time on your getaway.
