YMCA of the Rockies is the name of our organization and has three physical locations in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains:
Estes Park Center is located between Rocky Mountain National Park and the town of Estes Park, Colorado. Visitors to Estes Park Center enjoy hiking trails that lead directly into Rocky Mountain National Park from our 860 acre property, elk, deer and other wildlife that frequent our property, activities that entertain and educate all ages and the amazing mountain views. Both group and family guests are welcome year-round and can stay in family cabins with 2 to 4 bedrooms, comfortable lodge rooms or large reunion cabins hosting 6 to 16 bedrooms. Boredom is not an option with a swimming pool, craft center, sand volleyball courts, mini-golf, concerts and more.
Snow Mountain Ranch is located approximately 12 miles north of Winter Park in Grand County, Colorado. Snow Mountain Ranch’s 5,100 acres are sprinkled with cabins for individual families to rent, lodge rooms to host families and groups, and large reunion cabins that were designed specifically with family reunions in mind. There are also campgrounds and yurts available to rent. More than 60 miles of trails on Snow Mountain Ranch’s property are perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and biking and hiking in the summer. Indoor activities include swimming, a climbing wall, rollerskating, a craft center and more.
Camp Chief Ouray is a traditional overnight summer camp for boys and girls ages 7-17. Kids who attend Camp Chief Ouray never have trouble writing the dreaded essay, “What I did this summer.” Everything from rock climbing, tie-dye craft projects, campfire skits, hiking, horseback riding, camp traditions, mountain biking and archery are more fun when you are with friends. Camp Chief Ouray is tucked away in a secluded and scenic section of Snow Mountain Ranch’s property.
For youth development
To promote youth development, YMCA of the Rockies offers day camp and overnight programs that enable kids to learn, grow and play together. While kids are at camp, parents have time to themselves and kids have the opportunity to create healthy relationships with their counselors and peers in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere.
For healthy living
To promote healthy living, YMCA of the Rockies offers miles and miles of hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails on our properties. Adventure programming, sports facilities, outdoor education and youth conferences all add to our youth development focus. The Program Departments’ varied offerings include group and family activities to engage guests’ entire spirit, mind and body.
For social responsibility
To promote social responsibility, YMCA of the Rockies is committed to diversity and respect for all people by utilizing more than 50,000 volunteer hours every year, hosting more than 2,500 outdoor education students to instill in them stewardship of our earth, promoting global awareness through the international trainee program and supporting the Chaplains Departments’ religious education programming for youth and adults. Additionally, YMCA of the Rockies endeavors to operate its centers in an earth-friendly fashion with active recycling programs, sustainable architecture in new construction and active natural resource management plans.
