NEW! Fall Training Dog Sled Experience
October 04, 2021
Have you ever wondered how we train and prepare our sled dogs for winter when there’s no snow on the ground?
Before the snow starts to fly, our dog sled team still needs to train! Have you ever wondered how we train and prepare our sled dogs for winter when there’s no snow on the ground? This fall the Snow Mountain Ranch sled dog team is giving you the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how we train for the winter season in the Fall Training Dog Sled Experience. This experience is offered every Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning, and there is only one session per morning. Each session can seat one adult and one child. The cost is $120.00 per adult and $30.00 per child ages 6-10. You will meet at 6 a.m at our fall hook-up site across from the Therapeutic Riding Center. You will see how we arrange the lines, hook the dogs out on a picket line, arrange the team, hook up to the side by side UTV, and then you will join one of our mushers on an extended training run. Runs can be anywhere from 14 miles long to 40 miles long. Upon completion of the run, you will see how we care for the dogs, unhook and put them away as well as how we put all of the equipment away. This program will run through December 4. Advanced registration is required – click here to sign up!
