Mountaineering Weekend Highlights:

The 8th Annual mountaineering weekend helps further the YMCA of the Rockies' mission to introduce individuals and families to the outdoors. We offer unique programming options that help orient guests in the mountains year-round.

This year, Parker McMullen Bushman will be the keynote speaker. Parker was voted one of the top 20 most influential people in the outdoor industry in 2022 by Outside and is a dynamic speaker and facilitator with a passion for equity and inclusion in outdoor spaces.

Why Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is Important to Conservation Goals

DEI is a buzzword placed strategically in organizations. Do we know what it means? Do we know what it means in the outdoors and environmental movements? How can we incorporate DEI so all people can become stewards and protect our resources?

Mountaineering Weekend features educational sessions on winter survival tips and mountaineering skills, guided snowshoe hikes & winter ecology explorations in RMNP, ice climbing demonstrations, and much more! Regular YMCA of the Rockies programs will be running throughout the weekend, providing a great opportunity to check out the Craft and Design Center, rent some ice skates (weather depending), or take a dip in the indoor pool.

All Mountaineering Weekend activities are free for guests staying in lodge rooms or cabins. Booking & advanced registration is required for some weekend activities, booking links coming soon! Day passes for guests staying off-grounds are also available for $29 per person, per day.
