Family Adventure Packs at Snow Mountain Ranch

This fall, Snow Mountain Ranch is offering a new experience for families who want to explore outdoors at their own pace with Family Adventure Packs!

Each Adventure Pack will contain self-guided activities for your family to complete around the Snow Mountain Ranch property, giving you the chance to explore the natural environment and learn through immersive experiences. Each activity will take about 15-30 minutes to complete at a time that's convenient for you. Below are some of the fun activities you can expect to find in your Adventure Pack:

• Orienteering Basics: Learn how to use a compass to determine a course to travel!  This activity will teach the basics of compass navigation as well as how to determine a distance to travel by using your own pace.
• Orienteering Course: Take your newly-learned orienteering skills (see Orienteering Basics) out for a trip around our short orienteering course.  In this activity you will use those compass skills to make your way to various navigation points on our course.  At the conclusion we will have a short puzzle for you to solve to test your new skills!
• Tree-mendous:  Take a detailed look at the 4 types of trees you will see on our property at Snow Mountain Ranch!  This activity will give you some basic information about how to identify our trees, as well as some history of the pine beetle epidemic from the past 10 years.
