Trailblazers

The program
A Trailblazer loves the YMCA of the Rockies and wants to share information in his or her hometown with potential families and groups that would be a good fit for Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch. A Trailblazer may also volunteer his or her time on grounds during special Family Weekends in the off-season.

Here are some things you can do as a Trailblazer.
  • Share a group packet with pastors at their church, encouraging a youth or adult retreat to Estes Park Center or Snow Mountain Ranch.
  • Approach Girl Scout or Boy Scout leaders about coming to the YMCA of the Rockies to complete badge programs or go through an Outdoor Education program.
  • Talk to teachers in public and private schools about Outdoor Education opportunities at Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch.
  • Create a special presentation about the YMCA of the Rockies and offer it to the public at the local library, senior center or church.
  • Share group information with friends who are thinking about having a family reunion.
  • Share individual family reservations brochures with active families who would appreciate all the YMCA has to offer.
  • Host a party and have everyone bring something for a silent auction to benefit the YMCA of the Rockies. Proceeds will go to scholarship kids in our day camp programs at both centers.
  • Share information about our 2-night, $60 Pastor Getaway program.
  • Talk to skiers about Snow Mountain Ranch’s Nordic Center and winter family programs.
  • Find groups at a local church or university that are looking to take a ski trip and provide them with information on Snow Mountain Ranch.
  • Talk to your local YMCA about family and conference opportunities at our Y.

Sounds good! What do I do to become a Trailblazer?
Fill out the Trailblazer application. Be realistic about what you volunteer to do, but please challenge yourself!
Once we receive your application, we will provide you with a Trailblazer t-shirt and the proper information for you to successfully complete what you sign up for. (Mail form to Kellen Schaffer, 2515 Tunnel Road, Estes Park, CO 80511)
You will also receive things in the mail (YMCA of the Rockies newsletter, family brochures and a yearly thank you to name a few).
Then go forth and conquer, and share your successes and failures with us. We, in turn, will share them with fellow Trailblazers.
