Our Day Camps are for ages 3 – 13 and are available to anyone who would like to sign up, guests and non-guests alike!
Activities vary by day but will include swimming, a hiking day in Rocky Mountain National Park, climbing wall, archery, minigolf, and a hot dog cookout. Please note: There are many other activities your camper will participate in, including sports, camp games, skits, songs, outdoor education classes, arts and crafts, science and engineering projects, and national park service projects. Please register your camper in advance, as space is limited!
We provide the opportunity for your child to be cared for before and after camp through our Early Bird and After Camp programs. The fee is $5 for Early Birds, 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM; and $10 for After Camp, 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Both of these programs fill quickly; if you don’t see it as an option when enrolling your camper, please email [email protected] to be added to the waitlist.

Teens interested in working on their leadership skills can join our Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program. Developing core leadership skills in accordance with YMCA values, teens are paired with counselors to assist with traditional camper groups. CITs will also be able to plan and develop their own programs, games, and lessons. *We encourage CITs to spend multiple days with us, but the program can be modified to just a day or two.
Camp Chief Ouray Overnight Camp & Day Camp
Camp Chief Ouray is our adventurous playground and traditional overnight camp for kids ages 7-17. It develops confidence, independence, and resilience in a safe environment.
Beverly K. Booe Preschool
This nature-based preschool provides a student-centered environment equipped with outdoor opportunities and materials to enhance each child’s curiosity, empathy, and development.
Environmental & Outdoor Education
Our Environmental and Outdoor Education programs blend scientific inquiry with hands-on exploration, adventure, and creative expression to accommodate all learning styles.
Yes. Early Birds is from 7:30 – 8:00 am. After Camp is from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. There is limited space available and extra fees are applied.
Our Day Camp has an Inclusion Program where campers with special needs are involved in the regular camp programming as much as possible. One-on-one counselors are also available if needed. Many of the summer staff have had prior experience working with children with a variety of special needs. The Coordinator for Campers with Special Needs works with the counselor(s), equipping them with any skills or strategies for working with their campers, and serves as a resource for the counselor(s) throughout the week. Guests indicate special needs requirements when they register.

We have week-long camps where you focus on activities in a specific area such as sports, backpacking/camping, arts and crafts, music and dance, photography, and science. Approximately 4 hours of the day focus on activities in the specific area. The rest of the day is spent on traditional camp activities.
Day camp is available for ages 3 – 17. Teen camps are available for ages 13 – 17.
Camp fees are due in full the Friday before your session. All forms must be turned in or your registration may be cancelled, regardless of payment. Cancellations must be made by the Friday before your session or there is no refund.
Please register at least one day prior to your child attending camp. Registration closes at 2:00 PM the day before. We do not accept same-day registrations. Online registration opens in March.
Day camp starts the first Monday in June and runs through the third Friday in August.
For 4th to 7th grades and teen programming, drop-off is at the Legett Youth Building. For grades K-3, drop off is at Jellison. Drop-off is from 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM, and pick-up is from 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM.
