On April 22, the YMCA of the Rockies Outdoor Education Department is partnering with Rocky Mountain National Park to continue “Explore the Great Outdoors Day,” an excellent opportunity for students at Estes Park Middle School. Students will engage in various outdoor education activities under the “Play, Learn, Serve, Work” initiative – the Department of the Interior’s youth initiative that connects young people to the great outdoors.  Outdoor Education instructors at the YMCA of the Rockies and rangers from Rocky Mountain National Park will focus on teaching lessons, such as “Leave No Trace,” astronomy, the history of Rocky Mountain National Park and conservation.

Hey all you YMCA of the Rockies outdoor enthusiasts – we’ve got some news for ya… We’re excited to announce the addition of a new Outdoor Adventure and Education Coordinator here at Snow Mountain Ranch. His name is Zach Ducharme and we think you’re really gonna like him, we certainly do! Zach was born in Minnesota, but grew up in upstate New York. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Potsdam in Geology and Wilderness Education.
